Why do we need a Space Program? A classic question from the “Űber-ignorant.”
There seems to be an endless supply of these “college boys.”
I decided to have a little fun with him. I explained that when a man takes his pay, his economy grows but unless he makes money for his company, it does not.
I then explained that if his company makes money but does not pay its taxes, its economy grows but the Government’s does not.
If the company does pay its taxes, the government’s economy grows but unless the government buys products or services from other counties, the world economy does not.
If the government does buy products and services from other countries, the other countries economy grows but the world economy does not.
This is true because the world can not make a profit on itself.
This is why their can never be a “one world” currency or bank.
For the world to make a profit it must have a larger customer from which to make a profit.
He seemed to be smart enough to understand this.
But here is the fun part.
Now he agrees that we need a space program.
